Jacob Tenold Agency offers SMS messaging for policyholders and consenting prospects.

Program Description

SMS messages may include:

  • Appointment reminders

  • Policy servicing updates

  • Billing notices

  • Claims communication

  • Underwriting or inspection requirements

  • Marketing communications (with prior express written consent)

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies and may range from 0–8 messages per month. Frequency may increase during active claims or servicing needs.

Opt-In

You may opt in via:

  • Website forms with a checked SMS consent checkbox

  • Verbal consent during phone calls, in-person communications/meetings, and/or written requests for information

  • Direct information requests, submitted online via Farmers.com, tenoldagency.com, email, inbound SMS, and/or any other method of electronic communication originating from the insured or prospect

  • Submission through third-party lead vendors who obtained prior express written consent

Carriers

Supported carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Electronic Communications and Binding Restrictions

Insurance coverage cannot be bound, altered, changed, added, reduced, suspended, or cancelled through text message (SMS), email, voicemail, or other electronic communication.

Requests submitted by electronic communication are not effective unless and until:

  1. The requested change is confirmed in writing by our agency, and

  2. The applicable insurance carrier approves and processes the change.

Most policy changes require properly completed and signed change request forms submitted directly to the insurance carrier. Coverage remains in force under the existing policy terms until the carrier formally processes and confirms any modification.

Do not assume coverage has been changed, added, or cancelled until you receive written confirmation from the issuing insurance carrier.
